Dear Fans,

We are announcing a change to the TomPetty.com message boards. From now on, the boards will only be available to members of the Highway Companions Club and you will need to login to access them.

The message boards should be a place for any fans of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers to assemble and discuss their shared interest in the band with other fans.

Unfortunately, the boards which have been open to anyone have often denigrated into a forum for certain people to dwell on personal issues or their negative feelings towards other fans.

Now that the boards will only be available to Highway Companions Club members, we'd like to advise everyone that we reserve the right to permanently cancel your membership to the club and to refuse renewal if you behave poorly on the boards.

Please understand, we are certainly not opposed to people expressing themselves and their opinions. But we draw the line when discussions become overwhelmingly personal and often negatively so.
